Docking is performed in two steps: first, a grid-based lookup table of interaction energies is calculated for the receptor using AutoGrid, then ligands are docked with AutoDock using this information.<\/p>\n<p>AutoDock4 is a core element of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ccsb.scripps.edu\/autodocksuite\/\">AutoDock suite<\/a>\u00a0of free open source software for the computational docking and virtual screening of small molecules to macromolecular receptors.<\/p>\n<p>AutoDock 4 and AutoGrid 4 are free software, distributed under the <span class=\"link-external\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnu.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">GNU<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"link-external\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnu.org\/licenses\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">General Public License<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 The C and C++ source code of all the programs is provided, along with ready-to-run executables for several popular computers.<\/p>\n<p>AutoDock is being developed and maintained in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scripps.edu\/faculty\/forli\/\">Forli Laboratory<\/a>, with support from the US National Institutes of Health.
