Research Themes in the CCSB

The CCSB takes an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together researchers in structural biology, computational modeling, visualization, and biomedical applications. Our work falls into several broad disciplinary catagories, which each inform the others.


Developing new methods to predict the interaction of small molecules with biomolecules, for use in drug design, discovery and virtual screening.


Developing methods to model biological systems from atoms to cells.


Using new visualization and modeling strategies to address key biomedical systems.


Developing extensible, interoperable methods to explore multiscale representations of biomolecular systems, with virtual, tactile and augmented reality modalities.
